DP William Ruto Promises to Back DPP, DCI in Graft War

Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday pledged to support the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) as they lead the renewed fight against corruption.

Speaking in Eldoret, Ruto reiterated the need for institutions mandated with eradicating graft to effectively execute their mandates.

He asserted that oversight bodies including Parliament were vital in the anti-graft war before dismissing "stories and propaganda" surrounding the multi-agency operation.

"The Government is focusing on serving Kenyans.

“Those who want to engage in propaganda and stories please give us a break," Ruto stated.

He spoke at the Eldoret Sports Club where he launched a youth training and empowerment programme on Saturday.

The initiative is the brainchild of Kesses MP Swarrup Mishra.

Ruto announced that 200km of roads were under construction in Uasin Gishu County.

The DP further reiterated a government plan to issue bursaries who join technical training colleges.

He noted that from September,a Sh30,000 bursary would be issued to the 120,000 students who would join the institutions.
