Police have launched a manhunt for the son of a former politician who was convicted of killing a man, Benjamin Rahedi in a 2008 accident along Lang'ata Road.
The High Court issued an arrest warrant for Albert Kubai Mbongori, son to former Imenti North Member of Parliament Nteere Mbogori after he failed to pay a Ksh12.5 Million compensation to the woman whose husband died in the incident.
"These are to order you to arrest Kubai unless he pays Sh19, 433,463 together with executing officers expenses and fees.
"You are further commanded to return this warrant as soon as it is executed or the money noted in the margin is tendered to you with an endorsement certifying the day on which and manner in which it has been executed, or reason why it has not been executed," the warrant issued by the Registrar read in part.

Kubai was found guilty of manslaughter after he shot the deceased in the head after a minor accident.
The tragic reaction to a minor incident was attributed to road rage and the accused was sentenced to 14 months in jail and ordered to pay the widow, two sons of the deceased and the deceased man's father Ksh7 Million, Ksh4 Million and Ksh500,000 respectively.
Kubai pleaded with the court to relieve him of the compensation claims stating that he had gone bankrupt after his business took a hit due to the sentence.
"Since my conviction and jailing, my business went downhill and I have been unable to get a footing," he told the court.
Rahedi's widow, however, made an application to the court seeking to have the accused compelled to pay off the compensation claim arguing that she was unable to sustain the lifestyle her husband had made her accustomed to and suffered depression as a result.
"I was a spoilt wife. I had never even learnt how to drive because I was dropped off to work and for shopping whenever I needed it. I could no longer pay for my children’s tennis trips and they had to cope with the new realities," she told the court during a past hearing.
