Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Wednesday responded to a video of Chinese man Liu Jiaqi who used racial slurs against Kenyans including referring to President Uhuru Kenyatta as a monkey.
Clearly agitated, the County Head called for the identification and arrest of the Chinese national.
"Who knows where the construction site of this white monkey is? Tumuinue sai na awekwe kwa B** mpaka cell. (He should be found and put in a cell)" he wrote on a post on his Facebook.
The video of the man that has been making rounds on social media has angered Kenyans with many calling for his arrest and deportation.
Embakasi East MP Babu Owino voiced his disapproval of the video tweeting; "This idiot must be deported back to China ASAP! Wametuzoea sasa!" he tweeted.
Earlier on Thursday, the Chinese national was arrested and is reportedly set for deportation following his racial slurs.
The immigration department on Thursday confirmed the same adding that his work permit had been cancelled.
"Chinese National by the Name Liu Jiaqi who was captured on video yesterday using abusive words has been arrested. His work permit has been cancelled and will be deported on racism grounds," the govt body tweeted.
In the footage, the foreigner appears to be addressing a Kenyan employee at a motorcycle dealership whom he fires towards the end of the video, telling him to collect his letter.
As the individual began using racist slurs, the Kenyan employee put him on the spot, asking why he was in Kenya if he considered the people "poor monkeys".
"Everyone, every Kenyan is like a monkey. Even Uhuru Kenyatta, all of them. I don’t like you monkey people, [you] smell bad and foolish and black," Liu is heard in the video.
The employee told off the Chinese man informing that he would not work there forever, advising him to do business in the West or back in China if he hated Kenya so much.
The visibly flustered Chinese man maintained that he was only in the country "because money is important."
