Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga on Thursday met with the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Kenya Jabr Bin Ali Al-Dosari.
The ambassador called on the former Prime Minister at his office in Capitol Hill Square, Nairobi.
Raila's communication team did not divulge much information about their meeting only stating that the two 'discussed matters of national interest'.
Here are photos from the visit:
Earlier on Wednesday, Al- Dosari, through the Qatar Charity (QC) in Kenya, accompanied orphans sponsored under the programme to Paradise Lost as part of the comprehensive care services, activities, events and leisure trips which the children receive.
A record 200 children under the programme took part in the trip where they spent a full day in an enjoyable atmosphere.
The number of orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity in Kenya quadrupled during the current year compared with last year.
The number has so far reached 4,000 while there were 1,110 sponsored by QC until the end of 2017.
Director of QC’s regional office in Kenya Mohammed Hussein Omar described the event as a very important one for the children who got to interact with the ambassador.
"The trip was remarkable because the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Nairobi participated with the orphaned children, which brought pleasure to their hearts and left a good impact on them," he was quoted by Qatari Daily Peninsula.
On December 31, 2013, the charity launched its “Rofaqa” initiative to provide the integrated care to the largest possible number of the orphaned children around the world. To date, the initiative managed to sponsor more than 153,000 orphans in Asia, Africa and Europe.
