Sonko Attacks Governor Okoth Obado Over Sharon Otieno's Murder

Governor Mike Sonko has attacked his Migori counterpart Okoth Obado over the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno

In a video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, Sonko pointed fingers at Governor Obado linking him directly to the murder.

Speaking during the memorial service of his late father, a seemingly infuriated Sonko lashed out at the Migori County Boss saying that he should be held accountable.

"People are speaking about Sharon's death in hushed tones. The main suspect is my fellow Governor, Obado," Sonko indicated.

According to Sonko, Sharon who was 7 months pregnant was allegedly stabbed to death after she failed to procure an abortion as suggested by the father of the baby.

Sonko called out the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji and Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) boss George Kinoti to expedite the arrest and trial of the murderers.

"Let's not deceive each other. The results of the postmortem and preliminary investigations are out.

"Everyone must be held accountable. The culprits should rot in jail," Sonko quipped.

The Nairobi Governor further indicated that he will approach the Council of Governors (CoG) to caution them against defending the Migori Governor should he be brought to book.

"I am telling the Governor Josphat Nanok (the CoG Chairman) not to call any press conference to defend a murderer. We cannot defend a murderer," he concluded.
