Sharon Otieno's Family Announces Next Move After Migori Governor Okoth Obado's Presser

Sharon Otieno's family will bury the slain Rongo University's unborn baby on Thursday, a day after After Migori Governor Okoth Obado issued a presser denying any involvement in her killing.

The Nation reported that the family was still in distress over the brutal murder of the mother of three.

“This is too much for us to bear. Why did they have to slaughter her like that? I want to know why Sharon was killed,”

“It has been hard for us. Very hard indeed. We have gone through a lot since Sharon disappeared. We want this matter put to rest. We want peace but this will be possible only after her killers are exposed and charged,” Sharon's mother, Ms Melida Auma told journalists.

She called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to ensure that the killers are brought to book and justice is served before she lays her daughter to rest.

“It is my humble request to President Uhuru to look into this issue so that the truth is known,” Auma added.

Equally distraught was Sharon's father, Douglas Otieno, who reiterated the call for justice.

“Why did they have to kill an innocent child? Why? I cannot even attend the court proceedings in Nairobi because I cannot afford the fare. Being unable to see how the case unfolds just adds to my grief," he states.

On Wednesday, the Migori County boss, who was accompanied by his wife, son and daughter, maintained that he was not involved in the murder of the 26-year-old university student who was seven months pregnant before her demise.

"I have come with my family as we are distressed with the matter hata usingizi hakuna (we aren't even sleeping).

"As a law-abiding citizen, I want to state I have nothing to do with the cruel death of Sharon Otieno. I will do what I can to assist in the probe," he stated.
