Dr Owili further admitted that the hospital is congested therefore bed space remains an issue at the facility.

"The patients had been discharged. We handle cases several patients from all over Western Kenya," he noted.

The reporters further established that following the public outrage, five mattresses had been left on the balcony of Ward Two with one of the patients, George Odhiambo reiterating the claims.

The hospital's CEO Peter Okoth denied any reports of the patients being mistreated at the facility.

He, however, confirmed that the hospital is grappling with congestion.
