Police Gun Down 3 Suspected Gangsters in Dandora

Police officers on Wednesday night shot dead three suspected gangsters in Dandora, Nairobi.

The suspects were allegedly linked to a number of recent robberies in the area and are believed to have been on the police radar for some time.

Residents heard gunshots late in the night only to find out the next day that the three young men were shot dead.

Some of the residents who spoke to the press were shocked by the incident, stating that they did not know the men were hardcore criminals.

They appealed to authorities to work on improving the security situation, with the area considered a hotspot for muggings and violent robberies.

Several suspected gangsters in Dandora have been gunned down over the past month.

On August 19th, five suspected thugs were shot down in the area.

Residents had complained that the thugs would rob them at gunpoint near the expansive dumpsite.

The operation by police saw a pistol taken from a law enforcement officer who was killed in a bus carjacking incident recovered.

The GSU officer identified as Martin Korir was shot dead in April when a Neo Kenya Mpya bus he was travelling in was hijacked along Thika Road.
