Questions Kenyans Want William Kabogo to Answer in JKL Interview

Kenyans on Wednesday shared several questions they wanted to see answered by former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo.

Having announced that he would appear on Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange Live for an interview, Kabogo and Koinange sought to know what people wanted to know from the ex-Governor.

Interestingly, many of the questions submitted centred around Kabogo's plan for the 2022 General Election and his perceived adversarial relationship with Deputy President William Ruto.

They sought to know whether he would contest for the Presidency or the Kiambu Gubernatorial seat as well as his stand on having a constitutional referendum before 2022.

Kenyans further demanded to know Kabogo's position on the 8 percent VAT on all petroleum products and the taxation burden.

"Does he support the "over-taxation" that Kenyans have been subjected to since he is a supporter of the President and friend to Hon. Raila Odinga? Would the taxation shape/dent H.E Uhuru's legacy?" asked one Kamau Maurice.

Kabogo was also asked to advise current Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu on a number of challenges faced by his administration.

Most recently, Waititu's decision to renew a land lease for Del Monte left him battling area leaders who accused him of acting unilaterally.

In a letter to the National Land Commission (NLC), Kiambu Woman Representative Gathoni Wa Muchomba demanded a report explaining how the deal between the juice company and the county was arrived at and the actual acreage surrendered.

The county government renewed a lease of 8,000 acres for Del Monte for 99 years as the firm reportedly agreed to cede 635 acres.
