Diani Reef Beach Resort and Spa won Africa’s best beach resort award during the World Travel Awards (WTA) ceremony.
The ceremony that was held in Durban, South Africa, saw the hotel scoop the award for the fifth time.
Diani Reef Beach Resort Managing Director Bobby Kamani stated that they were thrilled with the award that recognized the high-quality services they offer as a hotel.
“'We are greatful that our efforts in upgrading our product as well as enhancing our service levels have been recognised by clients who have voted for us,” remarked Kamani.
Leopard Beach Hotel, which is affiliated to the resort and Residence scooped the leading family resort category.
Kamani appreciated all those who voted for the resort and expressed his desire to see more people visit the resort.
“We look forward to welcoming you all back to your homie in Diani,” stated the managing director.
Founder and President of the WTA revealed that the awards celebrate leading hotels, airlines and hospitality providers from across Africa and the Indian Ocean.
Other companies that retained their awards in their respective categories are as follows:
Kenya Airways(KQ) as Africa’s leading airline in business and economy class.
Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club as Africa’s leading hotel.
Satguru Travel & Tourism which was acknowledged as Africa’s leading travel agency.
Maasai Mara National Park won the award for Africa’s leading national park.
The winners of each category are set to battle for the global prize in the finals that will happen in November in Lisbon, Portugal.
The Stanley was recognised as Kenya’s leading hotel in the country.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy was the latest addition to the Kenyan companies that dominated the ceremony with being awarded Africa’s leading conservation company.
