Microsoft Suspends Windows 10 Update for October Over File Deletion Complains

Microsoft company announced the temporary suspension of Windows 10 update for October after its users raised complains of mysterious file deletion.

The update once installed, deleted files from users computers without their knowledge or consent.

"We have paused the rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) for all users as we investigate isolated reports of users missing some files after updating," read the statement on the company's website.

Microsoft advised that those who have already been affected by the problem to contact their support center and to stop using their machines until they have contacted them.

The reason for users to refrain from using their Personal Computer (PC) is to avoid further loss of their data and for easier recovery of the same when the problem is fixed.

It has also requested users who already downloaded the update not to install it.

The giant computer firm, however, did not confirm when the roll out of the update will resume or the reason for the problem.

This comes after a string of issues that have faced the update this year.

In January, the Windows 10 update turned PCs with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) hardware into an unbootable state.

The company in April stopped an update that caused the machines to suffer from the dreaded Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) which refers to an error that appears when one is in the middle of something, upgrading the operating system, when booting or simply working on your PC.
