Jacque Maribe's Heart-warming Moment With Father in Court [VIDEO]

Citizen TV News anchor Jacque Maribe charged with murder alongside fiance Joe 'Jowie' Irungu on Tuesday shared some priceless moments with her father at the Milimani Law Courts before it was ordered that she be remanded at Lang'ata Womens Prison.

Irungu, the main suspect in the murder of businesswoman Monica Kimani, is to be remanded at Industrial Area Prison.

Maribe's father has been pictured alongside the popular anchor since the high-profile investigation began, including at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters on Kiambu Road.

In an interview, Mr Mwangi Maribe stated that Maribe's life could be in danger if she testified against Joe, noting that her only mistake was "falling in love".

He further accused police of giving undue attention to Maribe in the case to exploit her celebrity status.

“Police want to become famous by nailing a celebrity. That is why my daughter is in custody. Her neighbour, Brian Kassaine, also has a partner. Why is she not in custody? Her biggest mistake was falling in love...

“He may not have committed the crime alone. The man has deep connections with shadowy people. His accomplices may be out there and may go after my daughter if she testifies against him,"  he stated.

Kassaine, a neighbour to Maribe, has since become a state witness.

He was in contact with the couple on the night of the murder and a gun was also hidden in his house.

Judge Lessit further ordered that Maribe undergo a mental assessment at the Mathare Hospital.
