Bus Pick Up Points For Free Transport to Kasarani Stadium on Sunday

The team coordinating free transport to Kasarani as Kenya plays Ethiopia on Sunday has set up 12 stations where buses will pick and drop Harambee Stars fans on Sanday.

The Nairobi Sports Management Board Chairperson Hashim Kamau on Saturday stated that buses will leave the pick-up points starting at 11:00 am on Sunday and will ferry fans back to their respective destinations after the match.

The 150 buses offered by Governor Mike Sonko to help fans cheer Stars to victory will be making hourly trips from the various sports centres in Nairobi.

The board also sent out an appeal from Governor Sonko urging football fans not to vandalize and destroy the Kasarani stadium infrastructure.

"The Governor has also appealed to all fans to paint the stadium red by adorning red t-shirts or jerseys to symbolize solidarity with our national team," stated Kamau.

On Thursday government through the Ministry of Sports announced that fans will not be charged to enter the stadium, a just a day to DP Ruto's visit to the team at Kasarani.

DP Ruto delivered the team's outstanding allowances pledging a Ksh50 Million to the team should they win against Ethiopia who held them to a barren draw on Wednesday.

Harambee Stars top Group F of the qualifiers on four points after beating Ghana 1-0 and drawing with Ethiopia 0-0 Wednesday.

With FIFA ban on the Sierra Leone FA still in place, three points for Stars Sunday will see them through and break the 14-year jinx.

Kenya last played in the AFCON in 2004. On Wednesday, Ethiopians filled their home ground, a crowd Stars captain Victor Wanyma described as intimidating.
