Migori Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo Involved in Grisly Accident

Migori Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo was on Sunday evening airlifted to Nairobi Hospital after sustaining chest injuries in a grisly accident.

According to Agha Khan Hospital (Kisumu) medical director Sam Oula, the MP sustained a fracture of the vertebral bone.

"Basically she is in stable condition and conscious, she was even able to give a story of what happened.

"She will be taken to Nairobi Hospital where she will be treated and will also have to get a special care from a spinal surgeon," Oula was quoted.

 

In video seen by Kenyans.co.ke, a visibly agonizing Pamela was wheeled away on a stretcher bed as she stated: "Thank you Jesus. You are faithful Jesus. I will always bank on your faithfulness Jesus"

Her bodyguard, Fred Owich, perished on the spot in the car which was being driven by one David Ouma.

The Woman Representative and  two other passengers Daniel Onyango and David Ouma were rushed to Migori Referral Hospital and later transferred to Agha Khan Hospital, Kisumu.

Onyango and Ouma sustained soft tissue injuries with one of them reportedly dislocating a shoulder.

Pamela was headed to Homa Bay Town where she was to hold a fundraiser alongside her Homa Bay counterpart Gladys Wanga and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

According to reports, the driver swerved the pickup double-cabin to avoid hitting a boda boda when they veered off the road and rolled several times.

Rongo OCPD Peter Kirui confirmed that the fatal accident occurred at Winyo area on the Homa Bay – Rongo highway.

Following the accident, ODM Leader Raila Odinga sent out a statement wishing Pamela quick recovery.

"We have received disturbing news about Migori Woman Representative Hon Dr Pamela Odhiambo being involved in a grisly road accident this morning. I wish the MP quick recovery," he stated.

"My deep and sincere condolences to the family of Dr Odhiambo's bodyguard Mr Owich who, unfortunately, lost his life in the accident," Raila added.
