English Premier League side Liverpool is set to send one of its top scouts to watch Kenyan champions Gor Mahia face off against Everton at Goodison Park on Tuesday at 10 pm.
Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr stated that he received confirmation from the club that Chief Scout Barry Hunter would be in attendance.
Other clubs expected to have scouts at Goodison for the game include Leeds United, Glasgow Rangers and Birmingham United.
“Liverpool Chief scout Barry Hunter has just confirmed right now that he will grace the match on Tuesday,” he stated.
With Everton likely to field a weakened side ahead of their next clash with Chelsea, all eyes will be on Gor Mahia's stars who ended the season with the League title and an unforgettable CAF Confederations Cup run.
Everton coach Marco Silva indicated that he would make several changes to the side that faced Brighton Hove & Albion in their last league tie.
In a press conference, he noted that the match with K'ogalo was important but he had to prioritise the clash with in-form Chelsea.
“It will be important to give some minutes for different players. For sure, some of the players (who played against Brighton) will not be on the pitch.
"This match is important but the next match is even more important. I want to be fair and honest with you that most important is next weekend,” Silva stated.
Among players expected to feature in the line-up is Colombian defender Yerry Mina, who could make his first full start for the club having come off the bench for the last four minutes against Brighton.
“I expect a very tough game and I know it will be a good moment for our opponents. It is always good to see different players playing and we know something small about them. It is an important moment for them because it is their first time in England and we are here to give them a good game.
“It is important to enjoy the game but it is important also to give them a good game because they have come all the way here to play in his historic stadium. We are ready for everything,” the Everton manager explained.
Opposition leader Raila Odinga, who is expected to attend the match, visited the team to offer encouraging words.
