Kisumu MCAs Engage in Fistfight After Raila’s Lecture

Two Kisumu legislators engaged in an ugly fistfight moments after ODM leader Raila Odinga gave them a lecture on peaceful legislation.

MCAs for Migosi Victor Rodgers and Nyalenda A, Jacktone Ogendo fought in a county hotel on Sunday.

Rodgers indicated he was attacked by his colleague at the hotel after the meeting with Raila.

He alleged the fight was brought message he had made a Whatsapp group for lawmakers.

“Sometime back I had posted that there was need for unity amongst MCAs and as a family we needed to sit and solve our issues.”

“On Sunday, when our party leader told us the same, I posted to the group, saying those are the things that I have been talking about,” Rodgers told the Star.

Ongendo later replied with “useless”.

“Another member told me to leave him alone because he would beat me. I replied that I was taking a soft drink in the hotel. Immediately, another member told me to get out of  the hotel because he (Ogendo) was coming for me there.”

After the exchange, Rodgers mentioned that Ogendo attacked him from behind with a crude weapon.

When contacted, Ongendo was out of reach.

On Sunday, Raila held a closed-door meeting with Kisumu Members of County Assembly (MCAs) over the recent leadership wrangles that have rocked the county assembly.
