90 Illegal Foreigners Rescued in Human Trafficking Dens Around Nairobi

Detectives from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions on Friday evening rescued 90 foreigners after raiding various human trafficking dens in Nairobi.

Acting on information from the public, the officers descended on a den at Mlango Kubwa area within Starehe Constituency.

Of the 90 foreigners found, 86 were from Comoros, three Ugandans and one Congolese national.

"The victims who are all aged between 19~45 years are currently in safe custody," read a tweet by the DCI.

The police assured that investigations were ongoing to nab the perpetrators of the crime.

In a separate incident, two Korean nationals Kim Ki Hyun and You Chungwoo were were arrested for being in possession of several bundles of counterfeit currencies (Dollars & Euros).

Also recovered were black papers and sale agreements of gold nuggets.

"Detectives had earlier on received information that the two Koreans, who are in possession of expired passports, were engaging in criminal activities.

"We thank the members of the public for their vigilance," DCI noted.

The suspects will be arraigned in court on Monday.
