Governor Mike Sonko’s Office Distances From Error-Ridden Posters Along Mombasa Road

The office of the Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Friday came clean about the errors displayed on posters of politicians along Mombasa road.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Nairobi County Communications Director Jacob Elkana distanced the Governor’s office from the errors stating that it was a responsibility of the Blue Economy Conference Secretariat.

He further explained that the errors seemed doctored and that what had gone viral did not correctly represent what was on the exact posters originally designed.

“We can only alert the Blue Economy Secretariat about the errors because the project was a responsibility of its Secretariat. The posters were even doctored,” he stated.

When asked whether they had alerted the relevant authorities responsible, the communications director could not exactly confirm or deny.

In our independent investigations over the “doctoring” claims, Kenyans.co.ke established that the posters actually contained the errors as displayed on images and videos across the internet.

The county had earlier in the week come under fire over the glaring errors misspelling dignitaries names and misrepresenting others' titles entirely.

According to one of the posters, Prof Ongeri Samson Kegengo was listed as a senator representing Migori County yet he was elected in Kisii.

Kenyans, however, did not hesitate to spark a trolling game against the Nairobi Governor terming the work as shoddy and embarrassing especially when it was put up coinciding the start of the first ever Blue Economy Conference.

Problem with giving money hungry fellows a job just for the sake of it... very bad,” posted Philip Etale alongside Governor Josphat Nanok who apparently represent “Turukana County” according to the posters.
