David Ndii to Dispose Ksh250M Property Over DP Ruto's Presidency

Renowned Economist David Ndii on Monday indicated that he is willing to dispose his Ksh250M property if Deputy President William Ruto wins the Presidency in the next election.

Responding to earlier reports that he would leave Kenya in the event Ruto bagged the presidency, Ndii indicated that his earlier resolution has not changed.

"I am on record on that. I will leave the country. If you can spare $2.5m (Ksh250 million), I’ll sell you a very good property," Ndii answered a tweep by the name Sam Wakhakha.

Another netizen Paul Njihia questioned why Ndii was planning to abandon his motherland at the hour of need and whether he was fearing for his life.

In response, Ndii quipped; "I am a Kikuyu and an African. Kenya is a historical accident. Being a Kenyan is a predicament," hence implying that he had not trouble with his roots but rather the running of the State.

The radical political strategist and at one time the National Super Alliance's (NASA) economic adviser has remained a fiery critic of the Jubilee regime.

In particular, Ndii has often taken issue with the bloating public debt under the Jubilee government.

He has also remained skeptical about the economic viability of what has been President Uhuru Kenyatta's flagship project -the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).

Ndii has equally raised concern over Kenya's newfound friendship with China warning that the generous loans extended by the Chinese would soon prove burdensome to pay.

Kenya debt to China stands at an estimated Ksh557 billion ($5.5 billion) with an additional Ksh581 billion ($5.8 billion) being owed to the World Bank according to a past Treasury report.
