Different Way to Check Form One Selection if SMS & Online Fail

Earlier in November, the KCPE results were announced and the subsequent Form One selection process conducted.

The Ministry of Education set up a system for candidates to check what schools they had been selected via SMS and online.

However, some have noted the difficulty in accessing the information via the two platforms (SMS or online).

"I am trying to find the school for my daughter but it's displaying no records found. Any other way of checking apart from online and SMS?" a Facebook user by the name Timothy Kiarie stated.

The helpline number provided on the reply message was unavailable.

When contacted by Kenyans.co.ke, a representative from the Ministry of Education noted that a reason why some may not have received a message was the system getting jammed due to a high number of requests.

Moreover, the official indicated that those with difficulties can access the information at the various sub-education offices in their respective counties.

The Sub-education offices are the Ministry's office at constituency level (sub-county) where all ministry communications including memos and circulars come through before passing to the schools.

Candidates residing in Nairobi are directed to head to Jogoo House which is located at the CBD to check where they were placed in the Form One selection.

The procedure for checking the Form One placement is by sending a message to 22384 with the message formatted as follows: LNK#Indexnumber. For example, LNK#0471247885.

The service is available for all mobile phone carriers and attracts a charge of Kshs 25.

Students can also check online on the Education Ministry's portal.

As of December 11, 2018, the links to access the Form One selection for National, Extra County and County Schools were active.
