President Uhuru Kenyatta is set to embark on his much-anticipated official visit to Kisumu County since the historic handshake with ODM leader Raila Odinga.
President Uhuru is expected in Kisumu for the launch of the Universal Healthcare System Pilot Program.
The UHC launch, however, is not the only event he will be attending.
On Wednesday, State House released a scheduled list of the activities that were awaiting Uhuru during his tour.
He is first expected to grace the groundbreaking of the Ahero Interchange.
After the groundbreaking, Uhuru will possibly make brief stopovers at Ahero and Nyamasaria to connect with the residents as they address their wishes to the Head of State.
He will then attend the official opening of the Ken Obura School before proceeding to commission the Kisumu – Kakamega Road at Mamboleo.
President Kenyatta will thereafter officiate the launch of the UHC pilot program at the Mamboleo Showground.
He is later scheduled to attend the UHC luncheon at Nyanza Golf Club where he will wrap up his visit to the county.
A lot has been aired by the residents of Kisumu about what perks they expect the President to bring to Kisumu during his visit.
More importantly, Kisumu residents have high expectations that the new found relationship between President Uhuru and Raila will be the beginning of a new era for Kenya as a whole and will unite the nation.
