Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was impressed by President Barack Obama’s decision to surprise the Children's National Hospital in Washington with gifts and hugs.
Sonko took to his Facebook page to post a photo of Obama donning Santa’s hat and carrying a bag of goodies.
He stated that he was working on his own surprise gesture and proceeded to ask his Kshs 1.7 million followers what they preferred.
The governor is known for his generosity and many cannot wait to see what he has up his sleeves.
In October, he gifted inmates at the Kamiti Maximum Prison who were sitting for KCPE and KCSE examinations, success cards and mathematical sets.
The county boss sent Kshs 500,000 to the Kenyan National Amputee football team after they thrashed USA 2–1.
Sonko, in the past, rewarded the national football team, Harambee Stars, Kshs3 million after they beat Ethiopia 3-0 at Kasarani Stadium.
While on a visit to check on the implementation of changes that he had ordered, the governor was seen dishing out cash and supplies to the new mothers at the facility as has been his custom in previous visits.
During another separate visit at the same hospital, Sonko rewarded a security guard who foiled a child theft attempt.
He promised Kshs 50,000 to any other security guard at the facility who would stop any such attempts in the future.
