“As a matter of fact, from our records, we’ve seen a market drop in the number of criminal incidences and fatalities on our roads.
“We had some market drop from 3,700 recorded in the year 2017 to 3,156 last year,” stated Boinnet.
Boinnet further stated that Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, on January 7, 2019, will launch the process of digitising the NPS process including having a digital occurrence book system.
He further revealed that the Police forms and reforms project was on course.
Based on directives given by the President, Boinnet stated that they had fully paid out all house allowances to the police and that the process to procure uniforms was well underway.
Acknowledging that the drop was marginal and more was need to be done, Boinnet continued that every life that was saved counted.
He further called upon all road users to be extra cautious while on the highways since they were responsible for everyone's life.
He narrowed down on pedestrians since most fatalities recorded in both 2017 and 2018 consisted of them.
