Popular comedian Chipukeezy, formally known as Vincent Mwasia, on Friday offered to mentor the schoolgirl who appeared drunk in a video that went viral during the week.
The National Authority for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) Director explained that he had initiated the process of getting in touch with her family and school.
He further remarked that his selfless act was influenced more by humanity and that some acts should not be about money.
“As Nacada Director, I will offer mentorship for this girl. Process to get in touch with family and school has begun,” posted Chipukeezy.
“The girl deserves mentorship and inspiration and not condemnation. That is why I hold office. Some things are about humanity not money.” he continued.
On Thursday, a video went viral online showing a school girl who appeared drunk while in school uniform.
In the video, the girl slurrily revealed that her drinking habits had been largely influenced by those of her mother.
The schoolgirl also revealed that she had been offered the intoxicating concoction by her friend.
“Mimi niko tei juu mama yangu pia anatei, so mimi nafanya kama mum, yeye hukuja kama ametei sasa mimi pia nafanya kama yeye. Nimepewa tei na beshte yangu, (I am drunk because my mother also drinks, So I copy my mum. She comes while drunk so I have done just like her. My friend offered it to me),” she revealed.
Several netizens hailed the comedian for the noble move.
