NMG Appoints Pam Sittoni As New Daily Nation Managing Editor

Nation Media Group, on Tuesday, appointed Pam Sittoni as the new Managing Editor for the Daily Nation.

This comes shortly after the former Managing Editor of the daily newspaper Mutuma Mathiu was promoted to be the Editorial Director of the Kimathi street media house.

The Media house also appointed the seasoned Business Daily boss Ochieng Rapuro to head The East African.

Sittoni had previously been the editor of The East African Newspaper.

Sittoni has an accomplished career in the media industry and was even recognised at the Women in News Editorial Leadership Awards.

In May 2017, she was named the 2017 laureate for sub-Saharan Africa in Paris alongside Ms Karima Kamal who was the laureate for the Middle East and North Africa.

NMG has experienced intense changes in the past including the merging of all business platforms including newspaper, digital and TV in 2017 and placing it all under Business Daily.

Mathiu, in his new role, was tasked with the oversight of the Group’s editorial policy that included enforcing the ethics, integrity and editorial policy as well as managing content sharing across markets.

He previously worked as a Group Managing Director and the Managing Director of Daily Nation and Sunday Nation newspapers.
