Foreign Pastor Reveals He Swayed DP William Ruto Against Challenging Uhuru

A foreign pastor has revealed that he dissuaded Deputy President William Ruto from vying for Presidency in 2017.

Addressing a congregation in a video uploaded on YouTube, Ghanaian televangelist, Rev Nicholas Duncan Williams, stated that the DP approached him seeking a direction over the matter.

Williams further divulged that he discouraged him from challenging President Uhuru Kenyatta majorly because his time had not come and that he would lose.

Before the Kenyan elections, the DP came to see me. He was planning for election as President, and he came with his wife and some team and we prayed. I said it is not yet your time, you will not win,” he stated.

He, however, advised him to join the President as his running mate and together they would carry the mantle.

I said if you join Mr Kenyatta as his vice, you will win. It is his time to win … and he went and joined and he is the DP today,” the pastor continued.

This was reportedly among the first instances that Ruto started facing hurdles on his way to clinching the top office.

Today, former Jubilee Party Interim Vice-Chairman David Murathe has vowed to ensure that the DP never sets foot into the presidency.

In a master plan reported by Kenyans.co.ke, Murathe revealed that he would first seek for an advisory from the Supreme Court to block any person from ascending to presidency after serving for a decade as DP.

He also revealed that he would call for a referendum to effect the change while threatening a mass walkout from Jubilee Party.
