Inside David Murathe’s Master Plan to Stop DP William Ruto’s 2022 Presidential Bid

Former Jubilee Party Interim Vice-Chairman David Murathe has outlined his elaborate plan to stop Deputy President William Ruto from ascending into presidency.

Through interviews across the media landscape, the revered politician revealed that he would first seek an advisory from the Supreme Court baring any person from vying for the top seat after serving as DP for a decade.

However, if the court fails him, he will, therefore, seek Kenyans’ votes over the matter by including it in a referendum.

Murathe had also threatened a mass walkout from Jubilee Party for another Party’s formation that will reportedly include top opposition figures.

There are a lot of people within Jubilee and outside Jubilee who share my sentiments. Going forward, the ‘Stop Ruto’ movement which we are going to start, there is no stopping it. Let them form their troops, and we have no problem, let the best side win,” stated Murathe.

He, however, pinpointed developing a political party as the centre of his master plan.

He further named AU Envoy Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and KANU chairman Gideon Moi as possible members.

If Raila or Kalonzo wants to team up with Uhuru in a political formation, and they are not comfortable to hook up as long as so and so are part of it, then you are looking at maybe an entirely different formation,” he stated.

Murathe was of the opinion that a President and his deputy should always retire together.

Is it possible, for instance, for the President now, after serving two terms, to then go back and say he wants to be elected as deputy president?” he posed.
