David Murathe Escalates Onslaught Against DP Willam Ruto

Former Jubilee Party Vice Chairman David Murathe continued his onslaught against Deputy President William Ruto during a consultative meeting at former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka's home that ended on Wednesday.

Murathe claimed that the National Anti Corruption Conference that was held on January 25 was convened to discuss Ruto.

During the meeting that was also attended by Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama and other leaders, Murathe stated that he was shocked to see Ruto in attendance.

“I was surprised during the anti-corruption conference in Nairobi where the person who was being discussed over corruption was seated right there shamelessly,” Murathe told the delegates.

The former Jubilee boss also stated that he was happy with President Uhuru Kenyatta's move to appoint Interior CS Fred Matiang'i as Chairperson of the newly constituted National Development Implementation and Communication Committee.

Murathe alleged that Uhuru's actions curtailed the DP's power to travel around the country and launch projects.

"I am glad that Ruto has been put in his place and government work is now properly streamlined, he expressed.

Murathe added, "We'll no longer see him going around the country again in the guise of touring development projects."

The Stop Ruto Movement headed by the seasoned politician will be seeking a constitutional interpretation of Ruto’s eligibility in court.

Murathe alluded to serious legal implications in Ruto's candidature, and that he intended to seek an explanation from the courts because of the ambiguity of the current law.

"If the legal basis for the DP's candidacy is that he's running for a different office from one he occupied in the two terms, then what stops President Kenyatta also contesting and serving as deputy president?" he posed amid cheers.
