2 Foreigners Saved From Lynching by Moi Barracks Military Police

Two foreigners believed to be of Pakistani origin were rescued from lynching by Military Police officers from Moi Barracks, Uasin Gishu County.

Members of the public confronted the two after they spotted them roaming around the barracks' environs.

They threatened to lynch the foreigners on suspicion that they were terrorists.

It was at this point that the officers from the Moi Barracks rushed to their rescue and took them to the Eldoret West Police Station.

A top officer at the station, while confirming the incident stated that the two were in the station and police were trying to unearth their Identities and their mission.

We do not want to speculate, we want to give enough time to discover who these people are.

The much I know is the two are of Pakistani origin since they are holders of Pakistani Passports,” the officer stated.

He also revealed that while crime levels in Eldoret were low compared to other areas, the residents had become more alert after the Dusit D2 attack that claimed 21 lives.

The officer reported that they were registering more residents calling the station every time a suspicious activity was spotted.

Wananchi are calling with all manner of calls suspecting their neighbors... which is a good thing. Ours is to verify and so far, we are doing good,” The senior officer concluded.
