Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mutemi Mulyungi’s ageing father has narrated how he stripped naked after the legislator assaulted him.
Mulyungi Kithonga, 84, told Sunday Nation that his son resulted to kicks and blows after a family squabble.
"I lost my front teeth when my son assaulted me in an argument. He rained kicks and blows on me until I fell to the ground in front of his mother and young siblings. One blow landed on my mouth,” he recalled.
In anger and disbelief, Kithonga stripped naked walked out of his homestead towards Mwingi town.
"As a parent, I stripped naked to condemn him. I wanted to remind all my children that I am their father no matter their physical strength or wealth,"
His action was an attempt to curse the lawmaker who at the time was an accomplished architect who serving as the Secretary for Works in President Mwai Kibaki's administration.
The incident happened in 2004 when Dr Mulyungi had been elected the Chairman of the Architectural Association of Kenya.
"Since the assault, Mutemi has never bothered to apologise to me or to initiate any form of reconciliation with me.”
Dr Mulyungi vehemently denied the accusations.
The intricacies of the family feud arose on Wednesday as the MPs younger brother, Joseph Mwangangi, was arraigned in a Mwingi court facing three counts of stealing CDF bursary cheques valued at Ksh18,000.
Family members claim the theft charges were fabricated by the legislator.
Last week, the Mwingi Central MP appeared before a magistrate at Ngong' Law Courts to answer to assault charges on January 28, 2019.
Mulyungi was accused of battering his wife, Doreen Majala, a Swahili anchor at NTV.
