Nine Killed in Grisly Bus Accident Along Nakuru-Eldoret Highway

Nine people perished while scores sustained injuries after a bus they were traveling in collided with a truck on Sunday morning.

The Nairobi-bound bus was coming from Bungoma and had 65 passengers.

Confirming the incident, Nakuru County Police Commander, Stephen Matu, explained that the crash at Kamara occurred on Sunday around 2am.

Matu stated that the drivers of the two vehicles were among those killed.

In a separate incident, three people were killed after a trailer carrying animal feed rammed into three vehicles at Salgaa on Friday night.

The trailer had faulty brakes, causing the driver to lose control and veer off the road.

Some of the survivors claimed that the driver tried to avoid hitting the cars but hit another lorry instead, killing two people on the spot.

Salgaa is a notorious blackspot with several fatal accidents taking place along the hilly stretch every year.

A different accident occurred at Kapmakaa area in Chepsir, along the Nakuru- Kericho highway claiming nine lives.

The accident involved a tanker and a matatu.

The tanker was claimed to have veered off from its lane resulting in a head-on collision.
