Betty Opondo's Son Collapses & Dies While Watching Cartoon

A renown radio presenter, Betty Opondo, on Wednesday morning, lost her son in unexpected and most shocking terms.

Taking to social media, the presenter, who previously worked at Radio Jambo, revealed that her son, Tevin, collapsed and died while watching cartoon on television, with remote in hand.

She further revealed that her son had been taken ill almost two weeks ago but was treated and had recovered to a point of going back to school.

"(You) were only sick for 2 weeks in December, recovered and went back to school... What happened?" posed the personality.

Opondo further disclosed that her son had told her that he was so okay just a few days before his sudden demise.

"Just the other day you told me 'mum am soo okay'... How do people just collapse and die watching TV," she continued.

According to her online profile, Opondo is a radio presenter at Radio Lake Victoria.

She has previously worked in numerous radio departments of major media houses in the country including Radio Africa, Radio Jambo and Kisumu-based Dala FM.

Thousands of her fans, through social media, expressed their deepest condolences for her loss.

"Betty Ooh Betty. I could not hold my tears when I played the song mtegemee yesu (depend on Jesus) by ambassadors of Christ for you this morning in Jambo Gospel. It broke my heart Betty Opondo. I wish I am close to you just to give you a Hug. Aki (please) tell me it's not true. Coming to see you," posted Eudias Kigai

"God is the one who gives and takes, just take heart my dear," posted another.
