President Uhuru's Impostors' Lavish Lifestyle Including Ksh5M Wedding

A secret lavish lifestyle of impostors who conned a trader off Ksh10 million by using  President Uhuru Kenyatta's name and voice has been unearthed.

According to records, two of the suspects; Gilbert Kirunja and Joseph Waswa alias Henry Waswa, have a documented past life of opulence in high-end suburbs.

In Waswa's case, reports indicate that he threw a Ksh5 million lavish wedding in December 2017 that involved choppers and a number of legislators were present.

He shocked Kitui County residents with his majestic arrival aboard a chopper during his trip to pay bride price while high end vehicles were on stand-by to whisk him away.

The four lawmakers who allegedly attended his wedding with Moreen Tabitha included Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, his Mwingi West counterpart Charles Nguna, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi and Alfred Keter of Nandi Hills.

In response to our questions, however, Babu Owino revealed that he had attended 300 weddings and 1200 funerals in 2018 alone.

Kirunja, on the other hand, despite having no formal employment, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) discovered that he lived life with a big spoon.

The reported master-mind of the con-group lived in a 10-bedroom maisonette in the leafy suburb of Karen.

At the entrance is a large ornate metal gate that leads to a house donned by high-end possessions including a 60 inch coloured TV in the lobby area and buttery-leather soft seats.

He was also the skilled one in the group and perfectly mimicked Uhuru's voice that persuaded the trader to part with Ksh10 million without second thoughts.

Other suspects included Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wajekeche, William Simiyu, David Luganya and Anthony Wafula.
