Rashid Echesa Fires Back at Francis Atwoli Over Purported Curse

Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa, on Wednesday, reprimanded Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) boss Francis Atwoli over his purported curse, which saw him lose his job.

Responding to Atwoli who was being interviewed on live TV by Jeff Koinange, Echesa tweeted that the COTU boss was being trivial.

“ At your age Mzee Atwoli you should be worried more of how best you've moved the Luhya nation forward than petty mundane matter of purported curse!” He posted.

The former Sports CS added that Atwoli being a long-serving unionist should have known better that the hiring and firing of workers had nothing to do with curses.

During the burial of Lugari MP Ayub Savula’s daughter on January 5, Atwoli publicly cursed Echesa for disrespecting him.

Commenting on JKLive, Atwoli reiterated how powerful his words were and that the curse had finally come to pass.

“I cursed him and it has not taken even three months and he is already in trouble,” Atwoli noted.

The COTU boss went to criticize the Western leaders claiming that most of them lacked substance.

“The crop of politicians we have in Western Kenya are not leaders, most of them are beggars...I have no respect for such leaders," he affirmed.

On Tuesday, Echesa formally handed over the Ministry of Sports, Culture, and Heritage (MOSCA) to CS Amina Mohamed after his dismissal by President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 1.
