Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Friday night bumped into Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) of the Ministry of Public Service, Youth, and Gender Affairs Rachel Shebesh during a random stroll in the CBD.
The governor was casually walking along City Hall Way accompanied by his county colleagues when Shebesh’s white car pulled up.
Sonko seemed pleasantly surprised to see the former Nairobi Woman Representative and exchanged pleasantries with her.
No sooner had they shook hands than Shebesh swiftly asked the cameraman who was recording live video on Sonko’s Facebook page to switch off the camera.
The two had a brief chat before Shebesh was driven away and the governor went about his business.
In the past week, the governor has been the subject of public ridicule after a lion statue was erected at the University Way roundabout as part of the governor’s beautification programme.
The statue elicited mixed reactions from Nairobians, many claiming that it had been poorly sculptured since they could not tell whether it was a lion, a tiger or some other animal.
However, City dwellers who were heading to work on Saturday could not help but notice that the lion sculpture had been changed.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on phone, Nairobi County Communications Director Jacob Elkana revealed that the statue had not been replaced, but rather, it had undergone modifications.
