President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto on Sunday sent their condolences to Labour CS Ukur Yatani following the death of his mother, Mama Gumato Yatani,
In a post on his social media, Uhuru described Yatani's mother as a matriarch.
"My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Labour and Social Protection CS Ukur Yatani following the death of Mama Gumato Yatani. Mama Yatani was a strong pillar and a respected member of her community. May Almighty God give you the strength and courage to bear the loss," he noted.
In his message, DP Ruto also condoled with the family expressing his deepest sympathies.
"Deep condolences to the family and friends of Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani following the death of his mother, Mama Gumato Yatani. We share our sympathies and prayers. May God rest her soul in eternal peace," he wrote.
Earlier in February, Tharaka Nithi Governor Onesmus Muthomi Njuki, lost his mother.
Jennifer Cianjagi Njuki was a nursery school teacher and a businesswoman who was described as a strong woman of Christian faith.
Taking to social media, Meru County Governor Kiraitu Murungi expressed his condolences to Njuki and his family for their loss.
He described the deceased as a committed member of the PCEA Woman's Guild at Rubate Church.
"On behalf of the people of Meru County, my family and my own behalf, I express my deepest condolences to my friend and colleague, Tharaka-Nithi Governor, Hon. Onesmus Muthomi Njuki and the entire Njuki family for the loss of their mother, Mama Jennifer Cianjagi Njuki.
