Police Hunt for Gang That Raided Church, Kidnapped Watchman

The police are looking for a gang that raided a church and stole items, before kidnapping a watchman in Kericho County.

The gang allegedly stole kitchenware, including cooking pots and cups, from Chepkurbet Africa Gospel Church(AGC) in Telanet location, Ainamoi sub-county.

The Chepkurbet sub-location assistant chief, Thomas Korir, indicated the robbers moved to a shop close to the church and stole items from there as well.

When the owner of the shop tried to resist their raid, they fought back using crude weapons, which forced him to fight back.

He added that the raiders were using a Toyota Probox that had no number plates.

Additional reports by Citizen Digital indicated the police were optimistic they would arrest the people involved.

A few days ago, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers caught a man nicknamed as spiderman, who had been scaling from one floor to another to steal from residents of Kilimani area.

The suspect was nabbed with several laptops, pliers, a cutter, a hacksaw and a rack sack bag.

He was later arraigned in court with charges of burglary and stealing.
