ODM Speaks on By-Election to Replace Aisha Jumwa as Malindi MP

Aisha Jumwa may soon find herself on the campaign trail to defend her seat after ODM Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna indicated that the by-election to replace her as the Malindi MP was on the way.

Speaking on Sunday in Ganze Constituency, Kilifi County, Sifuna indicated that the move to ouster Jumwa from her parliamentary seat was a matter of time as preparations were already in high gear.

"If you want to know the seriousness of the matter, as ODM Secretary-General, I have already procured the material from suppliers to conduct the party nominations.

"In the past, we as ODM Party have suffered due to our failure to correct the wayward and take disciplinary action," Sifuna stated.

The ODM Secretary-General indicated that from the beginning, he understood that the process to kick Jumwa from the party and consequently from parliament would end in Court hence he put necessary measures to ensure it's success.

"I am a lawyer by profession and I want to assure you that the Malindi by-election is on the way," Sifuna quipped.

He further to assure the party supporters in Malindi and Kilifi that the candidate who will be fronted from the ODM nominations will bag the parliamentary seat.

Sifuna went ahead to indicate that ODM will use all means possible to eject Deputy President William Ruto from office.

"I want to confirm it today, the process of separating Ruto from public resources is an urgent matter and every option must be on the table.

"Every option including forcing him to resign, or a possible impeachment, or a public arrest and private prosecution by the citizens of this country," Sifuna added.
