Residents of Jikaze area, along the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu highway, were treated to a rude shock on Friday after an accident.
The Star reports that a lorry collided with two other vehicles before overturning in a ditch.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the vehicle in question was overspeeding causing him to lose control.
Area residents rushed to the scene immediately after the accident had occurred.
However, they stumbled on a shocking discovery upon arrival.
They realized that the ill-fated lorry was transporting empty soda bottles back to Nairobi.
As is the norm, most of them had expected to cart away the goods that were being ferried by the lorry.
Some of the residents openly expressed their disappointment and went on to explain that they were expecting early Easter gifts.
“We thought he was carrying sodas and this would have been an early Easter gift to us but we were shocked to see empty bottles littered all over,” one resident stated.
The driver of the lorry was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated and discharged.
