Pastor Sells Belongings to Flee Huduma Namba Registration

A Pastor and a number of his followers have sold their belongings to flee Kenya in a bid to escape registering for Huduma Namba.

Reports by NTV indicate that Peter Lugekhe, a preacher with Reformed SDA Church has sold the belonging terming the government's exercise as satanic.

The man from a village in Budalangi Constituency, Busia County was quoted indicating that he was ready to face the consequences of his actions rather than go contrary to his faith.

"Even if you take me to President Uhuru Kenyatta, I will tell him the same. I am not enrolling on Huduma Namba," he quipped.

In solidarity with their preacher, a section of his followers have sold their property in readiness to go into hiding.

Lugekhe and his followers are set to move to an island in the Yala Swamp region.

His actions surprised the residents who blamed the government for failing to carryout proper civic education and public participation.

One resident observed that Chief Justice David Maraga was a faithful of the SDA church but had not sold off his property like the preacher.

On his part, Foreign Affairs CAS Ababu Namwamba rubbished the claims by the preacher indicating that the government was only trying to streamline service delivery to the citizens.

Despite President Uhuru's assurance that Huduma Namba has nothing to do with the biblical mark of the beast, a few Kenyans have remained sceptical that it could be related to 666.
