Neighbours narrated how a man in Transami Area of Embakasi butchered his wife in the wee hours of Sunday as they helplessly watched.
James Wambugu is said to have stabbed Grace Kangure over 20 times after an argument at home.
The neighbours claimed the man had locked all the entrances making it impossible for them to gain access to the house when the woman called for help.
“We heard her crying and calling for help, screaming that her husband was killing her,” stated Moses Rateng.
“I found a metal and broke the windows so that we could try and help the screaming woman,” revealed Francis Mutunga.
The neighbours went on to describe the suspect, who was later arrested, as a quiet man who kept his own company and never liked talking to anyone.
“She had been stabbed on her chest, neck, thighs, and blood was flowing from the wounds,” added Mutunga.
Another neighbour informed Nairobi News that the woman did not work in Nairobi but rather visited the husband on weekends.
In another incident, a man in Kisii was accused of killing his newlywed 4-months pregnant wife after she questioned his whereabouts after he arrived home late on Sunday.
The man was rescued and arrested after attempting to take his own life by throwing himself into a river.
