DCI Seizes Millions in Fake US dollars, 9 Arrested

Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Saturday arrested nine people among them seven foreigners and confiscated Ksh190 million in fake US dollars.

The police raided a house in Kilimani after a tip-off leading to the arrest of the suspects.

The suspects are in custody and will be taken to court on Monday and charged appropriately,” DCI stated.

The foreigners were from Rwanda, Uganda and DR Congo.

Among those arrested were, Bongo Ulerech, Olivier Mango, George Sr Gboe, Richard Kabasili, Egid Musolieva, Timothy Muhumuza, Brian Kimani and Ken Lugwili.

This comes barely a day after DCI detectives on Friday arrested another seven suspects in the same area of Kilimani and similarly seizing millions of fake US dollars.

Stephen Mark, Noah Amollo, Ian Otieno, Jotham Mugo, Joseph Majanga, Peter Otieno and Kevin Otieno were arrested in Nairobi’s Kilimani area in a sting operation.

DCI revealed that they are preparing to arraign them before a court of law on Monday.

According to The Standard, DCI have arrested over 20 foreigners who were involved in the printing of fake currencies within Nairobi.
