The former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was in Kabarak on Sunday to visit retired president Daniel Arap Moi to condole with him after the death of his son Jonathan Toroitich.
Raila who was in the company of his brother Oburu Odinga and Tiaty Mp William Kamket was received by Gideon Moi.
“We continue to wish strength to the former President and his family. May God grant them peace during this trying time,” Raila stated.
Raila took to Twitter and posted the moments he shared with the retired Head of State.
Raila had missed Jonathan's burial as he and President Uhuru Kenyatta had flown to China on official business.
Despite his absence, he delivered his message of condolence to the Moi family through Siaya Senator James Orengo while The presidents’ was delivered by his deputy William Ruto and his elder Brother Muhoho Kenyatta.
Jonathan succumbed to cancer and was buried at his Kabimoi home in Eldama Ravine, Baringo County on April 27.
The 64-year-old had at one time aspired t run for the Eldama Ravine Parliamentary seat but backed out in the last moment opting to support Musa Sirma.
He was eulogised a humble man who enjoyed a down to earth life without seeking any attention to himself.
Thousands of mourners flocked at Kabarak University grounds to give a befitting send-off to Jonathan at an emotional funeral service.
