Kenyans Heap Praise on Ken Okoth’s New CDF-Funded School [PHOTOS]

Kibra MP Ken Okoth has impressed Kenyans once again after he revealed photos of another school that he is constructing in his constituency.

Taking to social media on Thursday, the ailing MP who is currently undergoing cancer treatment in France, announced that the school was being funded by the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

He, however, divulged that he was yet to give the school a name and asked Kenyans to help him find a suitable name for the institution.

“What name should we call it officially? 1. The Kibra High School 2. Kibra Secondary School3. Kibera High School 4. Kibera Secondary School, “ he posted on social media.

Many Kenyans urged him to name it after himself since he had shown immense commitment to improving the learning conditions of children in the heart of Kibera.

He, however, politely declined stating that it was not part of his leadership style to name projects funded by taxpayers' money after himself.

“That naming system is not my style. The school belongs to the community; built through taxes that they pay. I'm just a servant employed by the Kibra people to represent and deliver,” he stated.

In 2018, the second-time legislator surprised Kenyans when he constructed a state of the art high school from scratch called Mbagathi Girls High School.

In February, the 41-year-old leader opened up about his battle with cancer, while exuding confidence that he will pull through.

He revealed that he was diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer after several hospital visits.
