Morgan Heritage's Huduma Namba Advice to Kenyans

Morgan Heritage, a Jamaican reggae group has advised Kenyans to register for Huduma Namba, stating it is a "good thing" for the system.

Speaking during the launch of the Tomorrow Leaders Festival, Mojo, a member of the group, cited that he would register for the number if asked to do so.

“To our Kenyan friends, don't be afraid of Huduma Namba. If I will be allowed to register for I will definitely do it,” he was quoted by The Star.

He added that a number called social security defines citizens in their country.

"Back home your name does not mean anything; because we may find ten people in a city with the exact name living and born in the same city as yours," he continued.

Peter, another member of the group stated that they felt at home whenever they visited Kenya.

"We consider Kenya as one of the warmest places in the world that we would want to live in. Mojo has not left Kenya since December last year and behalf of what he has been doing here on behalf of the Morgan Heritage Foundation is the concert," he revealed.

On Friday, President Uhuru Kenyatta extended the deadline for Huduma Namba mass registration a day to when the exercise was set to be completed.

He extended it by a week with the exercise expected to conclude on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 6.00pm.

In a statement to newsrooms, the head of state noted that the long queues observed at the centres in the final days necessitated the extension.
