Innovative Kenyan Travels 41 Counties With Hand-Built Car

Residents of Kapsoit are in Kericho county, have been left in awe at the sight of a hand-built three-wheeled solar-powered car.

The two-seater car was built by Musa Maganga Shikuku and Anthony Waliaro back in 2017 but the process was stalled by lack of funds.

The Mombasa youth describes the car as “Ferrari ya barabara” and apart from its three wheels, two car tyres at the front and a motorcycle tyrse at the back, the car has its own inbuilt entertainment system that comprises of a digital TV at the rooftop and a woofer at the rear.

According to Musa, he has traversed 41 counties in the car with his departure point being Mombasa county, through Kilifi, Machakos, Lamu, Nyamira and Kericho among others.

The youth stated that all through his journey, residents as well as traffic police officers have been amazed by his innovation.

The car, that was built back in 2017, was unable to travel on the road then due to lack of funds but has now been incorporated as part of a peace campaign.

Musa’s journey began in July 2018 and he is determined to complete the remaining six counties and in the process, showcase talent by Kenyan youth.

The Mombasa youth will complete his voyage without his partner in a bid to preach peace and is excited about his innovation hoping to inspire most of his colleagues.

His initiative brings to light other innovations by Kenyans such as another a solar-powered car by Samuel Karumbo, a Kitale student, among others.
