Police Officers Caught After Stealing Ksh82K During Bhang Raid

A police officer landed in trouble after he and two of his colleagues allegedly stole Ksh 82,000 from a mobile money agent in Nyalenda, Kisumu.

Citizen Digital reported that Constable James Lekamoi Sajini, who is attached to Kondele Police Station, was arrested on Saturday over the incident.

According to the publication, Sajini and his colleagues raided the shop and informed the attendant that they were looking for bhang.

It was not immediately clear whether they were acting on a tip-off.

During the search, the police officers robbed the attendant of the money which he had collected during the day.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers revealed that they also handcuffed a security guard who was manning the shop.

The police officers reportedly stole Ksh 6,000 from the watchman and took his phone and sword.

Sleuths who are investigating the incident told journalists that they were only able to identify and arrest Constable Sanjini.

However, he refused to name his two accomplices.
