Raila Enjoys Hearty Meal With Sakaja at Burma Market [PHOTOS]

African Union (AU) special envoy, Raila Odinga, took some time off from his official schedule to enjoy a savoury meal at the popular Burma market on Monday.

Raila was pictured alongside Nairobi Senator, Johnson Sakaja, Siaya Senator James Orengo and Makadara Member of Parliament, George Aladwa at one of the many hotels at Burma famed for their fresh meat and nyama choma.

Sakaja went on to reveal that he was honoured to have shared a meal with the former Prime Minister.

"It was great hosting Raila Odinga and Senior Counsel Orengo for lunch and interacting with wananchi at Burma Market," the Nairobi senator tweeted.

The leaders then went out and addressed the local residents who had gathered around the market once word got around that their revered leaders were at a local hotel chunking away their food.

On his part, Raila stated that he had just dropped by to say hello to his people as well as enjoy the famous local delicacy.

Businesses and traffic soon came to a standstill along the busy Jogoo road as the crowd grew larger and larger in size, following Raila's impromptu visit.

In a similar move back on September 19, 2016, Hai-Hai butchery (famously known as B6) played host to President Uhuru Kenyatta and after a savoury meal, he went on to fork out Ksh 21,000 - the highest bill the small eatery had ever had in one sitting.

Raila, Orengo and Sakaja then made their way to the late Hon. Oduya Oprang's home to pass their condolences following his recent demise.

"We later condoled with the family of the late Hon. Oduya Oprong following his demise. Hon. Oprong was one of the few remaining members of the 1st Parliament of Kenya and served for years with principle and distinction. May God comfort his family and give them strength," Sakaja tweeted
