3 Killed in JKUAT Bus Accident Along Kenol-Murang’a Road

Three people were killed on Monday afternoon in an accident along the Kenol-Murang’a road.

Reports indicate that the three were travelling in a matatu belonging to Namu Sacco, which it hit a bus belonging to the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.  



Murang’a County Police Commander Josephat Kinyua confirmed the incident revealing that Mbugwa Sub-Location Assistant Chief Michael Nduati was among the casualties.



He disclosed that the other two who died was a man and a child.

Several other passengers in the matatu were seriously injured and taken to hospital.



According to eyewitnesses, the matatu was speeding when it hit the bus from behind along the Kenol-Murang’a road at a well known black spot.



Elsewhere on Sunday, four Kenyans pilgrims died after being knocked down by a 14-seater matatu along the Iganga-Jinja highway in Uganda. 



Five others were injured during the early morning accident. 



Father Melchizedek Wafula of Kisoko Parish in Bungoma confirmed the incident. He went ahead to reveal that three women and one man had lost their lives.  



Two of them died on the spot while the others were confirmed dead on arrival at Iganga Hospital, Uganda.



The victims were part of a group of 150 people who were walking to Namugongo Martyrs Catholic Shrine in Uganda.
