Car Crashes Into Moi Avenue Restaurant

Two people sustained injuries on Saturday after a saloon car rammed into Bakers Inn food outlet along Moi Avenue.

According to The Standard, the accident occurred around 5am. The victims were rushed to a nearby health facility and are reportedly stable.

Netizens have urged Governor Mike Sonko to install barriers since it is the second time that a vehicle has crashed into the same eatery.

One person was killed while four others sustained injuries on May 10, 2016, after a Lang'ata route matatu rammed into the same bakery.

Nairobi County Traffic Commander Leonard Katana told journalists that a guard who was manning the entrance lost his life on the spot.

“One person- a security guard - was killed after a matatu belonging to St Mary's Sacco rammed into Bakers Inn," he stated.

Katana went on to add that a woman, who was at the counter, and three other people sustained injuries.

Eyewitnesses revealed that they head the matatu driver shouting and asking people to get out of the way moments before the crash.

Three officers, who were controlling the traffic at the roundabout, explained that the matatu just "passed them normally."
